Arium Announces Support for the latest Intel Atom Processor Z670

April 11, 2011 – Arium (Tustin, CA) today announced support for the new Intel® Atom™ processor Z670, formerly code-named “Oak Trail.” The new SoC device from Intel is supported by both the ECM-XDP3 and LX-1000 JTAG debuggers offered by Arium. Auto-discovery and full run-control functions are fully operational.

The new processor will be in end user devices beginning next month. Over 35 innovative designs from companies including Evolve III*, Fujitsu Limited*, Lenovo*, Motion Computing*, Razer*, and Viliv* are based on the new technology and running a variety of operating systems.  Purpose built for tablets, the platform offers increased battery life, enhanced performance especially around video, and several other new features. The series is also suited for a range of portable embedded designs such as mobile clinical assistants, ruggedized industrial tablets and portable point-of-sale systems.

Arium offers developers the unique opportunity to view executed code trace on both products. Arium emulators were designed to complement code execution trace on Intel® processor-based platforms using Last Branch Registers (LBR), Cache-as-RAM (CAR), and DRAM. Arium also supports specific debug features on various target environments, including UEFI and Linux.

Both Arium products use the SourcePoint™ debugger. SourcePoint is Arium’s flagship debugger providing debug features supporting multiple cores/threads benefiting BIOS, UEFI, device driver, and Linux developers. SourcePoint is used by many Intel OEM/ODM developers worldwide. The software runs on both Microsoft® Windows® and Linux hosts.
