American Arium
Launches SourcePoint 6.3.1
Company Delivers Latest Debug Upgrade for
Targets With ARM® and XScale Cores
TUSTIN, CA, January 30,
2007 /Market Wire/ -- American Arium, an industry leader in
hardware-assisted development tools, today launched SourcePoint™ 6.3.1,
the latest update to its debugger for ARM®- and XScale-architecture
processors. This latest version offers a number of enhancements to
SourcePoint™ 6.3, which was released in September of last year. Key
SourcePoint 6.3.1 features include:
- Additional Linux support in the form of
multi-threaded application debug.
- A new project wizard that streamlines the
user's experience when creating a new project.
- Trace that can now be saved as a binary file,
allowing the developer to capture trace data at one facility and
analyze it at another, all within SourcePoint.
- A new Upload command that can be used for code
patching, saving small patches made in a loaded program. The patched
program can then be reloaded without the need to rebuild each patch.
- Improved load speed for targets incorporating
XScale processors.
- Support for ARM® RealView® compiler tools
v3.0.
SourcePoint 6.3
introduced support for ETMv3 in support of ARM11™. SourcePoint 6.3.1
provides a number of "behind-the-scenes" enhancements for this. It
continues Arium's offering of a Linux OS-aware debug solution that
delivers full symbolic, source-level debugging of Linux kernel code,
including loadable kernel modules, and applications, including shared
libraries. Developers can launch or attach to processes with seamless
transitions to and from the kernel and each process. In addition, Arium
delivers kernel debug straight out of reset, dynamic debug of loaded
Linux kernel modules, and Linux console output through the JTAG port,
eliminating a serial or Ethernet port requirement.
SourcePoint 6.3.1 JTAG
emulator support includes the GT-1000D, Arium's powerhouse gigabyte ETM
trace analyzer, the HS-1000, offering the same support for ARM11 but a
smaller trace buffer at an excellent price point, and the LC-500, an
economical JTAG emulator.
