American Arium
Announces Heterogeneous ARM® ETM Support in CoreSight™ Environment
Arium Releases the Latest Version of Its
Debugger, SourcePoint™ 6.6
TUSTIN, CA, March 26,
2008 /Market Wire/ -- American Arium, an industry leader in
hardware-assisted development tools, today announced new debug support
for software and firmware developers working in an ARM® CoreSight™
environment. SourcePoint™ 6.6, the latest version of the company’s
flagship debugger, now allows developers to debug targets incorporating
heterogeneous processors. In addition, trace can now be gathered on
targets supporting multiple Embedded Trace Macrocells (ETMs), including
those with different architectures such as ARM11™ and Cortex™.
“As targets move to
multi-processor design to increase performance, they become more
complex,” said Larry Traylor, Arium’s CEO. “Today’s developers are
searching for state-of-the-art debuggers to meet the challenges that
come with that complexity. With the introduction of SourcePoint 6.6,
Arium offers a tool that addresses those issues directly. Our newest
version of SourcePoint allows for multi-processor devices to be quickly
and easily controlled and traced.”
SourcePoint 6.6
supports ARM7™, ARM9™, ARM11 and Cortex cores. The debugger works with
Arium’s HS-1000S and GT-1000D ETM trace port analyzers and LC-500 JTAG
emulator. The HS-1000S delivers a 256 MByte ETM trace depth with a
blazing 680 MS/s trace capture rate. The GT-1000D sports a 640 MS/s
trace capture rate and a huge 1 GByte trace buffer. The LC-500, a pure
run control tool, offers outstanding reliability at an excellent price
point. SourcePoint gives developers unsurpassed visibility to and
development of code via a series of intuitive screens and dialogs with
numerous viewing and customization options. Arium debug solutions
operate in real time with all core frequencies and work with today's
most popular compiler tool chains. They support industry-standard input
file formats and include a robust C-like command language.
Arium offers advanced
Linux OS-aware debug support, as well. The Arium solution delivers full
symbolic, source-level debugging of Linux kernel code (including
loadable kernel modules) and applications (including shared libraries).
Developers can launch or attach to processes with seamless transitions
to and from the kernel and each process. In addition, Arium delivers
kernel debug straight out of reset, dynamic debug of loaded Linux kernel
modules, and Linux console output through the JTAG port, eliminating the
need for a serial or Ethernet port on the target.
SourcePoint is
available with the purchase of an Arium ETM trace port analyzer or JTAG
emulator.
